The Humber Spotlight

I am pleased to welcome you back to another edition of The Humber Spotlight, after a summer break. I hope you are all well and have had some lovely time off. Over the past few weeks, we have been working on some new and upcoming projects within Future Humber, projects we are excited to soon share with you all. We are also looking forward to the rest of 2023, with more events yet to come.

August marks my one-year journey with Future Humber. In 2022, I graduated from the University of Hull and joined the HIP Programme, where I started out as a Marketing Assistant intern. Throughout my internship I worked alongside my colleagues learning all aspects of the business, including event support, publications, and Talent+. Recently I gained a new role as Office Administrator, which includes more administrative tasks and financial invoicing. I still also promote news, jobs and events sent through to me from our Bondholders. We encourage you to please send through news, upcoming events and job opportunities for promotion across our channels, the newsletter wouldn't be possible to create without your contributions.

Our next September Talent+ event is: Innovative Thinking, at The Edge Hub, where we will be inspired by stories that demonstrate the power of innovation. Talent+ events have helped me throughout my year at Future Humber, as a recent graduate I found the topics to be useful and insightful, especially when thinking about my future.

I really hope you enjoy this edition of our newsletter, which is now back every fortnight, and I look forward to seeing you all in the upcoming year.

Many thanks,

Saffron Gregg
Office Administrator, Future Humber

Innovative Thinking

Date: Thursday 21st September

Time: 8.30am - 10.00am

Problem-solving and combatting challenges in the workplace requires a whole host of skills, but how often do you think creatively to find solutions?

The reality is that creativity in the workplace is not just relevant to artistic jobs. It is highly likely that we could all benefit from harnessing innovative thinking, as it is easy to get stuck in a rut of using longstanding beliefs and processes without questioning ‘why?’ and thinking about how things could be done differently. Using your imagination to break the norm and take new approaches could be a game-changer in becoming a more agile and inspired contributor or leader. This event will help inspire you to unlock your creativity, with relevant applications to your career, no matter your role or the industry in which you work.
